Linda Ury Greenberg
Linda Ury Greenberg is a highly experienced consumer researcher with expertise in devising innovative, "voice of the consumer" solutions for difficult business problems.
Professional: Linda is currently the Director for Marketing Research at Columbia University in the Office of Alumni and Development. She has been involved in the music and entertainment world for many years, currently as an Executive-in-Residence at New York University's Steinhardt graduate music business program and recently as VP of Consumer Research at Sony Music.
Linda spearheaded groundbreaking research studies on artists such as Adele, Celine Dion, Elvis Presley, Carrie Underwood and Michael Jackson. She conducted research on new concepts, retailer issues and products, including the compact disc, Blu-ray and music-based social media videogames. Linda developed ways to present consumer demographic data to brands that helped Sony Music win millions of dollars in new business and promotional partnerships from fashion, credit card, beverage and other companies.
Through her independent consulting business, Linda has worked on a wide range of projects, handling research on iconic celebrities and brands, analyzing music discovery and gifting research, overseeing a research report for a charity, writing a report on grandparents and media and contributing to a white paper on digital content.
Industry: Linda chaired music industry trade association research committees for the RIAA and NARM. She is a frequent guest speaker at research and industry conferences, including the annual Market Research Event (TMRE), where she serves as a Board Reviewer of presentations.
Education: Linda is a graduate of Wellesley College, where she majored in Art History and English. She also received a Master of Education in Human Development and Children's Television Research from the Harvard Graduate School of Education.
